LACTATION SERVICES Q & A

WHAT HAPPENS AT A BREASTFEEDING APPOINTMENT?

Lactation appointments are scheduled for a full hour. During this time, our specialist can observe a feeding and weigh the baby before and after breastfeeding.  This is done to help reassure mothers that the baby is getting enough milk.  The specialist will also address any breastfeeding questions or concerns you may have, including but not limited to:

  • Latch
  • Positioning
  • Pumping
  • Returning to Work
  • Increasing Supply
  • Tongue/Lip Ties

WHO SHOULD SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

All moms!  Whether this is your first baby or your eighth baby, we are here to help as you create and strengthen the beautiful breastfeeding bond with your child.  We are happy to see older babies when the need arises as well.  Whether you desire help getting off to a great breastfeeding start or simply find you could use a hand along the way, call Nurture Women’s Health to schedule an appointment today.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY BREASTFEEDING APPOINTMENT?

Please bring a hungry baby and any supplies you are currently using to help breastfeed.  The father or other support people are welcome too.  If you would like assistance with your pump feel free to bring that as well.
